Historian's Corner

Throughout the week before our big crossover event, the rains came down, Rivers were overflowing and there was a very real concern that conditions would be too muddy for us to have our usual extravaganza. Luckily, at Camp Oakarro, things dryed out just in time.

Our teams went above and beyond the call and our crossover was outstanding. Many kudos to Andrew Rodriguez and his trails team as well as Will Emerson and the activities crew. The food was excellent and plentiful thanks to Noah Rios and our food team. The ceremonies team, led by Raymond Johns, put in a lot of extra time for practice and the result was a great ceremony for our new scouts. Breakfast on Sunday was provided by our new scouts and they did an outstanding job.

Special thanks, also, to all the Assistant Scoutmasters who came out to support our efforts. Troop 955 is very lucky to have such a great adult leadership group.

Many, many thanks to the parents of our existing scouts who came out to support our scouts and their efforts. Your presence meant a great deal.

If you missed this event – parent or scout – you missed a really good thing. Mark your calendar, crossover 2020 will be May 1, 2, 3 and the weather will be terrific!
